Hi,
I would like HDV material (1080p25) with an XL-H1 in Final Cut Log. The camera is connected via firewire to HD and set to 25p. The tapes can be played. It is definitely to HDV and not DV.
When you open the Log / Record dialog comes the message:
"The recording device could not be initialized.
The device is not connected or the default host is not configured correctly. Maybe you can still collect offline clips.
You may enter synonymous DV material on a HDV device. "
I have read the instructions in the manual what the XL H1 is concerned, exactly followed. If I Project to DV Pal RESTRICT, everything works flawlessly, but then he stands on 576i.

PS. The error is in Final Cut Pro 5 and Final Cut Pro 6 is identical.

Have two Cutting places with different versions.
The solution was the XL H1 Manual. Of course, once again not trivial:
On your camcorder to VCR / play switch and since then in the Setup menu under Signal Down Convert HDV to OFF. Somehow logical. Lags for me because I had not gepeilt that the menu camcorder in VCR mode by the difference in camcorder mode. Therefore, the function s.Anfang not found.
