HDV Firewire Hub - Distribution - correct wiring

Frage von thewhitesmoke:
September 2009

First of all, good day, my question is both technically and physically provided synonymous. I have the following cabling before and want to know if it ect a loss in quality, image problems. And whether that comes from physical cabling synonymous as possible because the data is. I own a SonyZ5E. About the firewire output, I would like with a high-quality Oehlbach 4pin-6pin cable (10m) in my recording room. There is now a Firewire hub are (I still do not know which model, but there's got what with 400Mb / S and with the 800MB / s) and the signal from the camera via the firewire input (6pin). On the output of the distributor now have 3 devices are connected. 2 DVD recorder via the Firewire input (ie 6-pin from the hub in the DVD recorder in a high-quality cable 4 pin-back) and additionally the DR60 HDV HDD of Sony. This takes as a further backup in addition to the hard drive. Since the hybrid is SonyKam yes, I take the same time on the constellation described on miniDV HD. Now I would still synonymous my Datavideo Video Mixers on Sony's own output to composite (such a cable is in the SonyCam) so different TV sources with the Picture to treat. I mainly question now after the loss of quality over the Firewire hub. Please provide brief assistance. I'm active all day and can respond to questions. Thanks in advance. MFG Ali

Hubs are usually. to redirect data of several devices into one and not the other way around. Most likely your plan will fail just that.

Better would be a firewire splitter, splitter are there for a signal into multiple split. Here, however, the question arises whether to accept your DVD recorder synonymous HDV? What issues the Camera s.Firewire HDV will be if you do not convert to DV (now nothing concrete could be derived from your text).

10 meters is the highest limit for Firewire. Should you happen to shoot any surgery, it might in the use of some electronic-surgical tools to problems in the transfer occur (black Picture).

If you should fail to find a firewire splitter, then better take a regular video splitter. You can then have a shorter Firewire cable for your hard disks-HDV Recorder take (in the same room can be). The video image of the DVD recorder you can either via composite or, if possible synonymous with S-Video (with the video tap-) fragments of it. Synonymous same time you can provide your mixer with the splitter. And do not forget Tonkabel;)

(It may be that the Web site on which I have seen this thing has given no correct description. It is really sure because reinzubekommen to a Picture and 4 out)

(The DVD recorders are all receptive HD)

(Why it is called in several websites that Firewire has no losses - not synonymous over long stretch)

(Normal for composite video splitter, I have, but that would just it is not the same quality HD Picture loss arising as to the Firewire cable. About Composite / SVideo I would not do that, see at weild quality loss führt.Das mixer can receive the signal via composite I have joined in this Momement synonymous synonymous so and that's enough with the quality synonymous with the idea. But not) for the recording.

You were right with the Firewire HUB.
But I have not found such a firewire splitter in the network. Can you give me a page or a product?
