Panasonic SD909: Manual Einstellunngen away. What about others?

Hi everyone,

with my newly acquired SD909 with regret I had to see that all the manual settings are made, are all gone when you suddenly switch to automatic mode. I think that's more than annoying.

If the general or common, synonymous with other models like this?

Yes so isses, unfortunately. Similar to the Model 707th Companies such as Panasonic make good products on the one hand, on the other hand, calculate as hard as they can only just. I do not think that this is the reason. In the part of so many unnecessary features are built ...
An amateur, we usually too much and too complicated. And a semi-pro will not work anyway with such a camera.
The few bytes s.Speicher, the data of the manual white balance would need to store, estimated to cost less than 1 cent.

I must return the camera but eh, since the view finder is totally blurred. Or you can set this somehow?

yes, at least for my 707 and all predecessors with View Finder. Pulling out and you have a small lever. Should be synonymous in the manual somewhere.

Hi,

With the Panasonic SD700 missing is store only several manual setup. Should be the same in the SD900.
On extended movie one can not turn the camera or on automatic, then go synonymous not the manual settings are lost ;-)

Otherwise, I've done for example in Lugano in a dark church with the right "gain" and the little monitor picture perfect.
The same is true in a zoo cage with wire and a colorful bird in the shade -> zoom, gain and focus (blue).

Regarding quality, I do not know what larger cameras can do better. :-))

the SD 909, 707 and 750 of the manual settings are gone when you go to the IA mode. In the TM 900 definitely synonymous Sun

The sharpness is pretty good. Significantly better than the Canon 5D Mark II, if that tell you what. Since Canon has not done all the homework. Especially from the point that the data rate of the 5D 45Mbit / s, almost twice as high.

The colors are better but over the 5D. In the case of orange and red tones, the 909 to low.

Is The Image Still it each time by a native crop from the footage. The review panel would then almost 9 times fit into the picture.

When I'm sitting a little time I have known more.

If in Auto mode, the colors generally too pale?

This is probably a general disease of the Pansonic camcorder. The 2010 models had the so synonymous. Generally rather cool color characteristics in the pictures in auto mode. A slashcam-user (not a name I have not even) because Sony has therefore recommended the warm characteristics in automatic mode. In manual mode you can, of course, the White Balance correction warm towards.

Because of the "beautiful colors" in the Auto mode, SONY would be any better? Probably.

For the neuenen Pan. 900 but says:
- 9.15 million pixels (instead of 6.5 for Sony)
- 3.5-inch screen (instead of 3 ", Sony)
- 3 chip (instead of 1 chip with Sony)
- Clearer menu (as Sony)
- 12 x otisch.Zoom (instead of 10 times Sony)

Direct Comparison with the SONY CX 690/700 s.March 11 and the Pan. 900 series will hopefully bring clarity. Am quite excited.

That with the "bending" of the white balance I'm going to gaze again. However, I am skeptical.
The neutral gray must remain 18% neutral. For that I am doing the manual White Balance. It should not be synonymous moved towards the orange or brown. Because it looks dirty.
