PYRO? for firewire

Beware of buying online from... - Adam Wilt

I've also had good luck with Crucial. But recently I tried out a Chicago
vendor
I hit it first from a link on pricewatch, looking to stick a Gig in
the DigiSuite. Picked out two ECC registered 512MB generic PC100 DIMMs
that matched the specs. Ordered, got 'em; the mobo only saw 256MB on any
of the DIMMs. Did the usual troubleshooting steps; checked my BIOS, etc.
No luck.
Called Premier's tech support. The friendly and efficient chap spent about
two minutes asking questions, then issued an RMA. A week later, I had four
ECC registered 256MB Infineon PC133 DIMMs which worked perfectly. No
charge, even though the new memory listed for about 15% more (even with
the price drops that were the rule at the time).
It came time to add memory to my G4 Cube (because OS X in 128MB is painful)
and G4 Sawtooth (because FCP and After Effects and Photoshop can never
have too much). Dealram pointed to MemorySuppliers. Two 512MB DIMMs
ordered, two installed, perfect operation.
They carry everything from SIMMs to DIMMs to DDR to RAMBUS to CF and
Memory Sticks. Good prices -- often not the absolute lowest possible but
usually within a few percent of the lowest. And so far, I'm a happy puppy,
and will try 'em again next time I need memory.
Cheers,
Adam Wilt

Off to DV Expo... - Adam Wilt

I'm off to DV Expo, and off the list for the next week.
See some of you there! I'm the nerdy guy teaching the DV tech classes; you'
ll recognize me by the frog on my head. The frog will be wearing a
wifebeater.
