Particularly in >rendering time? What does seem to be in doubt is the effect of upgrading to 5.5 with the infamous RAM Preview bug. This is a serious problem with AE5 and some folks report it getting better on AE5.5 but some say it is still there. It does go away completely with OS-X but this apparently gives no speed improvement for rendering. Perry Mitchell Fwd: Politically correct TV standards - "Perry Mitchell" From: Adam Wilt NTSC Used in USA and Canada, Japan etc. A tint control, A color control. Uncontrolled socialism. The state lets you choose what color you see and how strong it can be. They then tax you regardless. What to buy - 2nd VX-2000 or DSR-11? - "Perry Mitchell" From: Chris Benham I've been playing with the DSR1600 and 2000 (which we just bought. YAY!) Talk about fast AND accurate. I was able to FF through a 30 min program in about 10-15 seconds, and when you hit stop it STOPS. No overrun AT ALL. Of course, at that speed any overrun could be attributed to the fraction of a second it takes for the impulse to go from brain to hand. Regarding the DSR-2000, I (mis)quote Ferris Buehler: "It's choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
