I have found that the deck - I have a DHR1000 that I bought for linear
editing when DV cameras in Europe had their firewire inputs disabled to
avoid some arcane taxes- has had some advantages. etc.

BTW - many manufacturers in the 50's & 60's (Olympus, notably) manufactured
35mm "half frame" cameras, essentially the same format as filmstrip. The
advantage was twice as many photos per roll of film.

These dedicated slide scanners....are they of a design that would allow you
to pull a long film strip through them? In other words, an opening at the
front and through to the back?
