Century optics 16:9 drawbacks - "Perry Mitchell"

From:Kirk Lohse
Well, now I'm totally confused again!
On Ken Stone's FCP site, there is an EXHAUSTIVE discussion of the need
for using an anamophic lens (Century's is specifically mentioned) to do
"true" 16:9, rather that just gouge the camera's resolution, by using
its 16:9 mode.
Yet, what I read here, seems to poo-poo the notion of the Century
adapter and suggests instead using the camera's 16:9 mode.
I'm going to start shooting a short film next month and need to know
what do to shoot my project in 16:9. I have a PD100a with its .7
wideangle lens and have been told everything from: use the wideangle
lens with 16:9 on, to get a true anamorphic lens and shoot in 4:3, to
shoot with the PD100a's wideangle lens, shoot in 4:3 and edit in 16:9
in FCP.
Now WHICH is it, for crying out loud?!?!

Century optics 16:9 drawbacks - "Perry Mitchell"

From: Ton Guiking
By choosing the last option (#3 in Perry's list), what is the best way
to shoot? I can put tape on my LCD screen (using the 16:9 setting as a
reference) but any ideas for the viewfinder?
All input welcome!

Hello Perry, tried the Google thing. Found nothing relevant. Seems like
I'm gonna hafta either transplant my A05 from my B&W to my PC or just
get a DVD burner for my XP box in order to utilize the myriad
DVD-burning options available to Windows. Apple has left me with no
other choice.
