DVL-Digest 1889 - Postings: Index a no no dv-l digest: May 20, 2004 - Red, Yellow, Blue - (2) Software for TV graphics a no no - "Perry Mitchell" From: Gregg Eshelman So of course a local pawn shop just has to get in a nice Sony Digital 8 with iLink (Firewire! You @!@$ Sony marketroids!) and they put a paltry price on it. dv-l digest: May 20, 2004 - Red, Yellow, Blue - "Perry Mitchell" From: Joel W. Smit I have a long held, mild facination with things Japanese including their technical innovation and scientific status (and of course the beautiful women but that's another topic). To read they have no word for blue in light (no pun) of the established color spectum -roygbiv - is both astounding and absolutely hilarious! Scientifically speaking, blue can be defined by a range of electromagnetic frequency (which I am too lazy to look up). Are there no prisms in Japan? This bit of trivia regarding blue is just too funny. Imagine the movie titles or lines one could come up with: "Don't cry. After all in Japan there is no word for blue." or "What color is the sky in _your_ world?" "I do not know as there is no word for it." OK, bad examples, but Bill Murray (sp?) misssed an opportunity in "Lost in Translation". dv-l digest: May 20, 2004 - Red, Yellow, Blue - "Perry Mitchell" From:Eric James Well, perhaps we all do see colours differently; there are so many qualifying terms to more accurately describe a colour : teal, aqua, ultramarine, sky, duck egg, light, dark, turquoise, 'prussion', deep sea, navy, midnight; they all seem to require a common term of reference. Software for TV graphics - "Perry Mitchell" From: Catalin :: Braescu I am a newbie to TV production, yet (as so often happens) I need to obtain quickly results. I am working on a TV show which is a "Top 10" music chart. The host speaks something before every music video. I need to create ASAP the graphics for the main title (I don't know the English term for that, basically the main intro), the artist/song/album graphic displayes on bottom of the screen when playing the music video, some other "candies". If theye were static I'll go using Adobe Photoshop, but I need them a bit animated. So, given the details revealed above, here are my two questions: 1. What (Windows-based) software is generally used for this kind of job? 2. What (Windows-based) software cand be *quickly* used by a Photoshop user? If possible CC me directly because I am a list subscriber but in this case speed is very important. (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
