4:3 to 4:3; 14:9; 16:9 - "Perry"

I only have 4.2 which is maybe not very relevant! I'm sure we could find
another volunteer with 5.1 and maybe for the other NLEs like FCP. I'll try
it in EditDV though.
It is easy to forget that there are many owners out there without any
option, since they don't have a wide mode on their cameras. I believe you
folk were the poor relations on the VX1000, since both the PAL and Japanese
NTSC versions did have 16:9. Never did read a reason for that omission?

Speaking as somebody who has answered the odd question more than once, I
don't mind the technical questions continually re-occurring. Some things do
actually evolve and change and presumably folks are joining the List all the
time. What I find difficult to countenance is folk who listen to a set of
answers from various 'experts' and then ask exactly the same question only a
few days or weeks later.
I guess some of us are just naturally curious and some are not. I cannot
stomach not understanding something that I feel should be within my grasp,
and will keep digging away until my mind is clear. Sometimes answering a
question makes me realise that I don't understand something as well as I
should or that I've just plain got the wrong end of the stick.
The thing that has transformed my life is the Internet! No longer do I have
to remain in ignorance for want of a good book, so much information at the
touch of a button. The trouble is it is leaking out of my memory faster
than my 64k connection can refuel it!

Ahh, the famous 'Brue Razor' (sorry, fatuous in joke). As an aside, I was
told that it is called Blue Laser by the Japanese because there is no word
in Japanese for 'Blue' which is sorta amazing!
