Pal/ NTSC

Pal/ NTSC - Adam Wilt

Someone mentioned that there is a Sony camera coming out early next year
> that will be switchable. Anyone got any more info?
I'm very skeptical about this as the physical CCD format (number of active
scanlines in the the same amount of height) is different between the two
formats. Unless the camera is using the Philips subdivided-pixel CCD (*very*
unlikely unless it's a high-end Philips camera) I don't see how the camera
head itself can be made multistandard.
In a tube camera, of course, it's a different matter... but you don't want to
go there... :-)
Cheers,
Adam Wilt
