Either you have applied an effect, filter, motion, transparency, super, or other modification to your clips, or your sequence settings still don't allow an output of unmodified DV. Try loading the "DV - NTSC" (or "DV - PAL" if you're in PAL country!) preset (lower left of the settings dialog), and see if that fixes it. If not, try throwing away the FCP preferences file and restarting FCP. If that still doesn't fix it, make sure there's no effect, filter, etc. applied to the clip in the timeline. RGB vs. YUV : Premiere and Final Cut Pro - nospam-adamwilt@flash.net > How does RGB vs. YUV affect my decision to edit with Premiere vs. Final > Cut Pro? I'm told Premiere shifts video into RGB from the YUV signal This much is true. > and that I lose resolution when this happens. You don't lose resolution, but depending on the codec you use you may see a reduction in color accuracy, or a shift in brightness levels. With a well-implemented codec, like Apple's QT 5 DV codec or Promax's DV Plus in clamped mode, these losses are minimal. > If so is it the same with Final Cut? FCP allows you to choose between YUV mode and RGB mode. > Or is all that nonsense not affect me if I stay uncompressed? If uncompressed, you'll still have to deal with YUV/RGB translations.
