I know that firewire is the 25mbps version. What I have so far is a SDI input.< Whoa Jens, you have a lot of things mixed up here! Firewire (properly IEEE 1394) is a serial digital interface for any sort of data. I believe the early cards were 100Mb/s but the recent versions are 400Mb/s. DV is the compressed video format, with a video only content of 25Mb/s. The total with audio and other stuff is about 30Mb/s. This is the same for the pro variations, DVCam (Sony) and DVCPRO (Panasonic). '50mbps DV' is currently limited to DVCPRO50, which has no Firewire interface. SDI is a serial digital interface used exclusively on professional video equipment. It transfers uncompressed component video ('601) with 4 ch digital audio, timecode and user data. The data rate is 270Mb/s, although some computer board manufacturers have stripped this down by just sending the video. SDTI is a group of protocols that define an identical interface to SDI but carrying compressed video. Not only does each type of compression require a different protocol, but there is provision to run the video at 2x or 4x normal speed. In the light of the above, maybe you would like to rephrase your question to one specific enough to answer.
