DVL-Digest 932 - Postings: Index Dual monitor editing problem Meeting you at IBC 2001? Dual monitor editing problem - Adam Wilt I spake thusly: > Unlike Mac OS, Windows doesn't fundamentally support multiple displays > (even in the latest versions, there's no concept of a "primary" display). I misspoke; Win2k (and I think Win98) do understand multiple monitors, almost to the extent that MacOS does. But previous versions of Windows did not. Even on Win2K, some dual-display video cards (like my Matrox G400) will give you the split-down-the-middle dialog boxes unless you set things up specifically to avoid it. Win2K's multi-monitor support seems to work best with multiple physical cards that Plug 'n' Play can identify as such. The G400 appears to Device Manager as a single display, so Win2k has to work through the Matrox drivers to properly utilize it as a dual-display system -- hence its (and my) confusion on the topic! Sorry, Adam Wilt Meeting you at IBC 2001? - Adam Wilt YES we (as your A'dam-BEACH-host) will do that as we did before.
