Looking for Photo Suggestions - "Perry"

From: Doug Wise
What cool things could I do if I finally wanted to learn After Effects?

Premiere on Mac - "Perry"

This is in no way meant to censor or to stifle a healthy discussion. There
are many FCP users on this list, as there are many P6 users. We want to
help them edit, we don't want to give them an education in close quarter
combat.

Premiere on Mac - "Perry"

I think FCP is an excellent product and has many strong points, but IMHO
what I think helps sell Premiere is the integration with our other products,
like After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.

I'm still an "official" guy from Adobe and still holding onto the towel!
Just want to say, Robert, that I for one appreciate folks
like yourself (and Jan, etc.) that stick in there on these
forums. It is especially nice when contributions are not
just restricted to marketing hype or outlining that the
solution is to upgrade to version X coming just around
the corner.
Usually, the burnout rate is high due to being highly
accessible and people have a tendency to hold you
directly responsible for a fast answer or individual
frustrations. The diplomacy and willingness to have
composure under fire is always noticed and appreciated,
even though at times you may feel it isn't.
John Dowdell of Macromedia on Direct-L, and Charles
Wiltgen of Apple/Quicktime were very noteworthy in
this regard. (Charles was even on this list for a bit,
not sure if he still is anymore.)

I'm a bit confused. Was it Adobe who said you could not upgrade Premiere to
5.1c or was it Pinnacle who would not upgrade the Targa 2000?
I apologize if it was Adobe, you should have been able to upgrade to version
5.1c on the Mac. Unfortunately, the Targa 2000 is not certified for Premiere
6.0.
Robert
>Whilst you are 'on the line', the reason I still have only 4.2 is that it
came with a Targa 2000 card and when I attempted to take it to 5.1, I was
told that my particular version (identified by serial number) couldn't be
upgraded! I read that another Targa 2000 owner in similar circumstances had
argued his case to the highest management levels and won his case so maybe I
should have persevered.

With all due respect to an eminent warrior of the DV domain, I must add that
the VX1000 listens to "VTR ID 4" commands, so you'll want to find a remote
that spits out (or can be switched to spit out ID 4 as part of its command
stream. Not all can, especially older remotes.
The different IDs allow multiple bits of gear to use the same command
protocols without having every single bit of Sony gear in the room go into
play when you push play on a remote.
