
Blackmagic Design has just given the free availability of the DaVinci Resolve 8.1 Update known. The update brings a whole new, very welcome features are released: Final Cut Pro X XML roundtrip capability, ACES color space support, Avid AAF
and round-trip capability for Avid Media Composer, new editing functions, layer nodes, etc. For Final Cut Pro X User should be the following passage in the press statement by Blackmagic Design at the most interesting: "With this new update, DaVinci Resolve can now import and export Final Cut Pro X timelines using the new Final Cut Pro rich XML file format When working in Final Cut Pro. X, customers will get full timeline roundtrip where projects can be moved between Final Cut Pro X and DaVinci Resolve, retaining the multi-track timeline with frame accurate cuts, dissolves and even speed changes. DaVinci Resolve will also use rich XML from Final Cut Pro .. X to link to the original camera footage DaVinci Resolve supports full media management for Final Cut Pro X projects including additional source folders and clip alternate image source when conforming edits to Resolve "DaVinci Resolve costs in the software only version of the 890, - € and it's available for Mac, Windows and Linux. With the Round function Triping important workflow enhancements for Media Composer and Final Cut Pro X editing environments are established. Nice that this update is free for all existing DaVinci Resolve customers. Hardware solution for the studio must be invested little more (about 22.000, - €). It is obtained but also send this controller ;-)
