Infoseite // Realtime MPEG2 Encoding for SD-SDI

Frage von tobsen:

Hi,

I have a real-time MPEG2 encoding of an SD-SDI stream to make.
Once the event is over, the master of DVD within 10-15 minutes available (included with the menu extras, otherwise I would simply use the DVD recorder). This 10-15 min are already more or less the time I need to burn, of so I can not waste time on rendering for books.

The menu with extras is already before the session in Encore prepared and after the end of the session, I move only m2v and ac3 into encore purely and click "burn".

Would the Matrox RT.X2 SD a solution for my problem? If not, what card would be recommended? Is there any experience (with DVD menu virtually "live" to create)?

I appreciate any idea / Impulse!

Hi,

I have to do realtime MPEG2 encoding of a SD-SDI stream.
When the event is finished, the master DVD has to be provided (including DVD menu, otherwise I would use a DVD recorder ..) within 10-15 min. That is more or less the burning time so I can not spend any time on rendering.

The menu included extra content is prepared in Encore before the session started. After the session I only want to add the m2v and the ac3 to the project and hit "burn".

Is the Matrox RT.X2 SD the right solution for my problem? If not, what else would you recommend? Are there any experiences with this configuration (create a DVD menu from s.event with more or less "live"?)

The solution in English, I've synonymous in the forum link posted above:

Quote: shortly just to let you know:
finally we used a "Canopus DV Storm2 Pro". The card provides m2v and m2a while capturing in real time, but no chaptering.

What we did instead was using Encore and started recording with the card and playing the timeline s.the same time, then set the chapters with Shift + *, then the later chapters were already s.the timeline when we moved into the recorded clip. Kind of way around;)

For any reason we had to transcode to ac3 with m2a encore (Automatic Settings) I have to find out if m2a can be used natively for DVDs without any problems (the storm does not support ac3 for any reason ..).

Thanks for anybody who helped us with this topic, the next month I will setup a similar system in a TV truck for Conferences, and next time we will use the card in Germany in February. We will do some slight improvements, but bottom line is: very successful and flexible. Thanks!
