Ahead of the Cine Gear Expo in Los Angeles, Zeiss is introducing the new Panoptes 65 lens series. Equipped with an LPL mount, the Panoptes 65 lenses cover an image circle of 59.9 mm, making them compatible with existing large-format cameras such as the Arri Alexa 65, the Blackmagic URSA Cine 17K 65, the Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55, and upcoming models.

The series includes ten focal lengths—25 mm, 35 mm, 40 mm, 45 mm, 55 mm, 70 mm, 90 mm, 110 mm, 135 mm, and 180 mm—each with a uniform aperture of T2.2. The prime lenses feature dual scales (metric and imperial) as well as consistent positioning of focus and iris rings across the entire set.
The lenses weigh between 1.62 and 2.18 kg with a length of 144 mm (with a few exceptions; the 180 mm will be the longest at 165 mm). The front diameter measures 95 mm, except for the two focal length extremes, which are 114 mm.
The new ZEISS Panoptes 65 lenses are designed to deliver consistent image characteristics that meet the demands of modern VFX pipelines and compositing workflows. They offer full lens data support out of the box with eXtended Data (XD), as well as integration into the ZEISS CinCraft ecosystem for camera tracking, virtual production, and visual effects workflows.
The ZEISS Panoptes 65 lenses are available to order now and cost 18,000 euros each plus VAT (the 180 mm is more expensive at 22,000 euros net). Delivery of the 35 mm to 135 mm focal lengths is scheduled to begin in late summer 2026, while the 25 mm and 180 mm versions are planned for 2027.
