Atomos has now released the SUMO PRO-19, which was announced at NAB 2026. The new 19" monitor-recorder-switcher is available immediately and brings a whole range of improvements over the SUMO 19 SE released in 2022, such as higher resolution and numerous new features. The SUMO PRO-19 thus adds a new top-of-the-line model to Atomos& existing range. Panel upgrade to 4KThe Atomos SUMO 19SE was released in 2022 as a revised version of the original SUMO 19 and, at the time, primarily brought an improved quantum dot panel as well as upgraded SDI inputs. The new SUMO PRO-19 model now brings even more significant improvements: the Full HD panel of the 19" touchscreen on the SUMO SE is being replaced by one with HDR 4K UltraHD resolution. ![]() Atomos SUMO PRO-19 New featuresIn addition, there are new attractive features that Atomos had already implemented in some of the recent product updates for the smaller Atomos monitor/recorder series, such as integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity for NDI HX3, Camera-to-Cloud workflows to platforms like ATOMOSphere, Frame.io, or Dropbox, AirGlu wireless timecode via Bluetooth or RF for multi-camera sets, and direct camera control via touchscreen, including touch-to-focus for common systems from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic. Camera control via touchscreen also allows for direct control of central camera parameters such as start/stop, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, and white balance. Six freely assignable quick-access buttons also allow for personalized access to frequently used functions such as exposure aids, framing tools, playback modes, LUTs, or anamorphic de-squeeze display. ![]() Atomos SUMO PRO-19 Recording up to ProRes RAW 8Kp30The SUMO PRO-19 possesses all the recording functions of the SE and can record video as Apple ProRes RAW at now 8Kp30 (instead of the previous maximum of 6Kp30), 4Kp60, DCI/UHD, and 2Kp240 DCI/HD via HDMI or SDI – a total of 2x 12G-SDI, 2x 3G-SDI, and 1x HDMI are available. With its four independent inputs, it can also be used for switching (hard cuts and fades) and recording four ISO streams plus a program channel at up to 1080p60. Additionally, the PRO-19 supports recording in 10-bit H.265 at up to 30 Mbps, which enables both high-quality mastering recordings and quickly available proxy files for dailies. The Atomos SUMO PRO-19 is compatible with Sony FS series cameras, Canon C300 MkII/C500, Panasonic EVA-1/Varicam LT, and others. The SDI and HDMI inputs also offer cross-conversion with 4K>HD down-conversion options. ![]() Atomos SUMO PRO-19 CFexpress Full-size XLR connectors with 48V phantom power allow for the connection of two external microphones with balanced analog audio recording and monitoring. Microphone or line-level audio can be seamlessly synchronized with embedded audio from HDMI and SDI sources. Furthermore, the SUMO PRO-19 offers balanced XLR outputs, embedded HDMI/SDI audio, built-in speakers, and a headphone jack for direct audio monitoring. Storage on USB-C and CFexpress Type B instead of SATA-SSDRegarding storage media, Atomos is moving away from the classic SATA-SSD as the sole option for the SUMO PRO-19, opting instead for external recording via USB-C and internal recording on CFexpress Type B memory cards, which are fast enough for 8K RAW and high-bitrate codecs. The compact and robust CFexpress cards also enable fast offload speeds, allowing material to be quickly transferred to post-production or the cloud. MonitoringAtomos has also further expanded its monitoring tools: in addition to classic focus, exposure, and framing aids (focus peaking, zebras, waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope, frame guides, SMPTE safe areas, grid markers, and 3D/1D LUT support including .cube file import), the SUMO PRO-19 now also supports EL Zone False Color – a precise system that displays exposure values in stops, enabling consistent exposure control – as well as anamorphic de-squeeze display and 16:9 framing for social media formats. For professional color accuracy, the monitor can also be calibrated with Calibrite Display Pro HL and Plus HL probes via the Atomos Calibrator app. ![]() Atomos SUMO PRO-19 with EL Zone False Color Connectivity and power supplyThe SUMO PRO-19 offers an extensive range of connection options: in addition to the aforementioned SDI and HDMI ports, an RJ45 Ethernet port for wired network workflows and two USB-C ports for external storage media, camera control, and accessories are available. The monitor can be powered via a 4-pin XLR DC connector as well as with portable power sources such as interchangeable batteries, making it flexible for changing set environments. Detachable feet and several strategically placed mounting points allow for easy integration into stands, cages, arms, or custom setups. A newly integrated carrying handle also facilitates transport between shooting locations and positions. Price and availabilityThe SUMO PRO-19 is available immediately at a price of 3,359 euros. The SUMO 19SE remains in the portfolio as a more affordable option for those who can do without the higher resolution, network connectivity, CFexpress, and camera control – it costs just over 2,000 euros. deutsche Version dieser Seite: Atomos SUMO PRO-19 ab sofort erhältlich - 19" 4K-HDR-Monitor, Recorder und Switch |
