The annual update of the Adobe Premiere Elements (and Photoshop Elements) entry-level software is now available. It is said to offer general performance improvements for video editing as well as support for VFR (variable frame rates) as a new feature under MacOS, which is usually found in videos from smartphone cameras. Also HEVC video and the image format HEIF is supported on the Mac (from 10.13 upwards).
Furthermore, the Quick edit mode has been revised. The new interface offers now a Smart Trim function as well as a simplified Timeline
, on which different material like clips, photos, titles etc. can be combined and exported fast. Two new How-To chapters have also been added -- users can learn how to create a "Window Overlay" on the one hand and a Luma Fade Overlay
on the other hand.
A completely new Elements Home Screen displays info and tips at startup, including collages and slideshows automatically created by Adobe's Sensei AI technology.
