AtomOS 12.7.0: Atomos Ninja Recorders receive RAW support for new Sony, Canon, and Leica cameras

[10:57 Wed,1.July 2026   by Thomas Richter]

Atomos has released the AtomOS 12.7.0 firmware update for its Ninja RAW, Ninja TX, and Ninja TX GO monitor/recorders. In addition to RAW support for newly released cameras, it brings several workflow improvements and bug fixes. As usual, the update can be installed free of charge via the Atomos support page or directly on the device via an over-the-air update.

RAW support for three new cameras

With this update, the Ninjas can now record ProRes RAW from the Sony Alpha 7R VI (see our field test), the Canon EOS R6 V, and the Leica SL3-P. Owners of these cameras can now swap the internal 8/10-bit signal for a significantly more flexible RAW signal from the sensor, offering more latitude in color grading. Specifically for the Alpha 7R VI, there is an additional practical feature: the ability to adopt camera filenames for RAW recordings.

C2C upload can be disabled during recording

Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) is Atomos& cloud workflow, where footage is automatically uploaded during or immediately after recording. However, this consumes processing power and bandwidth. With the new option, the upload can be specifically paused during the actual recording, ensuring that the full system performance is dedicated to the recording itself. After the take, the upload can continue as usual without having to completely deactivate C2C.

New features in AtomOS 12.7.0 for Ninja RAW/TX/TX GO

- RAW support for Sony α7R VI
- Support for camera filename adoption for RAW recordings with the Sony α7R VI
- RAW support for Canon EOS R6 V
- RAW support for Leica SL3-P
- Improved compatibility with CFexpress cards
- Added option to disable C2C upload during recording
- Fixed bug with UHD-to-HD downscaling on output at 23.98/24 fps
