Not all types of sound effects are supported yet; at the launch of the Resolve plugin, the integration covers the following categories: - Ambiences - Whooshes - Risers - Transitions - Impacts - Clothing and fabric sounds Footsteps (which are already available in the Premiere plugin) and specific spot effects will be added in a future update—at no extra cost to existing subscribers. Krotos positions the tool as a starting point for the creative process rather than a replacement for professional sound design: it is intended to help editors without their own audio team, as well as production teams, quickly furnish a rough cut with matching effects so they can test the impact of the visuals together with SFX. Professional sound designers can later recalibrate the effects and replace them with even more suitable ones. How does it work?Users select a region on the Resolve timeline and choose the desired sound categories. This region is then analyzed, and the matching audio clips are automatically and synchronously positioned onto separate, freely editable tracks. This allows every effect to be easily moved, replaced, adjusted in volume, or supplemented with custom material afterward. Swapping effects If a placed effect does not fit the scene, there is no need to manually search for alternatives: the plugin allows individual sounds to be swapped while maintaining synchronization. The swap takes place in the "Results" tab, which opens automatically once the analysis is complete. Additionally, a Krotos Studio account and subscription are required. The available subscription tiers are Krotos Studio (50 Video-to-Sound uses for 9.99 euros per month), Studio Pro (100 Video-to-Sound uses for 23.33 euros per month), and Studio Max (200 Video-to-Sound uses for 83.33 euros per month). New users receive one test generation for free.
