According to Dpreview, Sigma will present alternative versions of its Cine-ART Primes this fall, which will offer the warmer vintage glass look known from older movies of the 50s, 60s or 70s. In return, the optical elements used will be less and simpler to compensate than with the current ART lenses.
Normally, modern lenses use an ingenious multiple coating in order to achieve a clean, error-free image. This also seems to go hand in hand with a higher light transmission, because the new "Classic Art Prime" line will, as it seems, be somewhat weaker throughout.
The official presentation of the new Cine series will take place at the IBC in September.
