DJI Avata 360 - Coming in February for only ?

[12:01 Sun,1.February 2026   by Thomas Richter]

After a long silence regarding DJI&s first 360° drone, new information and images are increasingly appearing online, as well as—thanks to a leak at an American retailer—the supposed price. According to this leak (see screenshots), the Avata 360 is said to cost .99 in the Base Bundle (only the Avata 360 plus one battery), which would confirm earlier rumors from November that speculated a price of . Further packages are more expensive and then include additional batteries, a remote controller (with or without a display), and the goggles actually necessary for truly immersive 360° or FPV flight.

Without these, the only new feature of the 360° recording is the ability to freely select the camera perspective from the all-around recording in post-production for export from a normal video clip. The fact that the Avata 360 is already listed in a shop indicates that it will soon be officially released—and if DJI follows its pattern from recent releases, it will likely appear first only in China and then a few weeks later in the rest of the world.

What is special about the DJI Avata 360?

The big innovation: like the new Insta360 Antigravity A1, the Avata 360 also allows pilots free all-around vision in all directions via goggles during flight through the live transmission of 360° 8K 30fps video—detached from the flight direction or orientation of the camera. This promises a completely new immersive flying experience.

This free view in all directions is made possible by one upward-facing and one downward-facing fisheye camera, whose images are combined into a seamless and undistorted image in the form of a spherical 360° 8K all-around view. The Avata 360 is intuitively controlled via the Motion Controller. In terms of appearance, the Avata 360 remains true to the proven FPV Cinewhoop design of the Avata series.

The 360° cameras are supplemented by several sensors in the flight direction and on the sides, including a front-facing LiDAR, which are responsible for automatic obstacle avoidance. For video transmission/control via DJI Goggles 3 and the RC Motion 3 Controller for distances up to 20 km (FCC), the Avata 360 reportedly uses DJI&s OcuSync video transmission system.

A special feature of the Avata 360 compared to the A1 is the ability to be flown both as a 360° and as an FPV drone. DJI uses a special gimbal to rotate the camera module with the two upward and downward-facing camera modules by 90°, so that one of the cameras points forward and thus delivers 4K/120 fps video in the flight direction like a normal FPV drone.

The Packages According to the Leak

In addition to the Base Package, the Avata 360 will be offered in several other configurations as usual—the 360° or FPV flight via goggles is optional. For example, only the Motion Fly More Bundle for 1,799 includes several intelligent flight batteries, a charging hub, a carrying case, and spare propellers, as well as a Motion Controller and FPV Goggles that enable the novel 360° flight experience. Then there is the Fly-More Bundle with three batteries, an RC-2 controller with a display, three batteries, a charging hub, a bag, and accessories (also for 1,799), and another, scaled-down Fly-More version with only one battery and the RC controller for 1,299. However, what the prices will look like in this country (due to taxes, customs, and exchange rates) is not yet clear, especially since the prices in the US shop refer to already activated models and are therefore likely to be gray imports.

The Big Competition
The A1 has been on the market since the beginning of December, and initially, it seemed that DJI wanted to introduce the Avata very shortly after the competition, but that does not seem to have worked out. In view of the upcoming launch of the Avata 360, Insta360 has just temporarily reduced the price of all A1 bundles by 15%. Thus, the Antigravity will only cost 1,189 Euros instead of the usual 1,399 Euros until February 9th. This makes it more than competitive compared to DJI&s Avata 360, provided that its price for the version including the Motion Controller and Goggles is not significantly below 1,799 (converted 1:1).
