PremiumBeat, one of the largest online providers of music to accompany movies, has released an update to its iOS/Android app, which allows filmmakers to search mobile for the best soundtrack to accompany their clips. PremiumBeat offers over 8,500 specially composed exclusive tracks that can be searched mobile via app.
New is the possibility to get suitable soundtracks recommended according to your own preferences - you have to choose if you like some tracks or not - according to these preferences the algorithm of PremiumBeat suggests new tracks. For each film project you can now create your own playlist with soundtracks that you consider suitable. These playlists can then be shaved with other team members to get their opinion before the actual purchase or use in the film. In addition, the mobile playlists are synchronized via their own PremiumBeat account and are thus also available on the desktop via browser.
Also new is the display of a golden dot next to tracks you haven&t listened to yet - a handy feature to keep track overview, which tracks have already been checked and which haven&t - this information is also synced with the PremiumBeat account and is thus also visible on the desktop.
Soundtracks can be selected not only by genre, BPMs and instruments, but also by the desired mood of the music. A standard soundtrack costs and can be used on the web and in non-commercial projects worldwide without time restrictions - a premium license costs and covers the use in commercial projects or in movies or games - here the details of the two licenses. The PremiumBeat app is available free of charge for Android and iOS.
