Compared to the competition, Resolve offers an unbeaten documentation of all programme functions, which is currently reflected in a PDF complete work with over 3500 pages. For professionals, this is exactly the right thing to look up, but for beginners it is usually rather "overwhelming".
They probably need a step-by-step introduction that provides a quick and practical introduction to the lavishly loaded interface of the programme. And this is exactly what Blackmagic Design is now providing with the new, free beginners' guide to DaVinci Resolve 17 via a free download.
The book first deals with editing with the cut page and then also looks at the traditional edit room. It then takes you through the colour correction, Fusion VFX and Fairlight audio tools. In contrast to earlier versions, the book is currently only available in English. So that you can follow all the steps "live", Blackmagic Design also offers a set of matching exercise files for optional download.
It may also be interesting to know that after reading the book you can take a one-hour online exam with 50 questions. If you pass this exam, you receive .
a certificate from Blackmagic Design.
If you have mastered the first steps or are already more familiar with Resolve, there are more in-depth courses on the individual topics for specialisation, after which you can also receive a certificate. The following titles are currently offered on the website:
Advanced Editing with DaVinci Resolve 15
Fairlight Audio Post with DaVinci Resolve 16
Colour Correction with DaVinci Resolve 16
Fusion Visual Effects with DaVinci Resolve 16
In the beginners' guide mentioned above, however, new titles for version 17 are already mentioned here, although Blackmagic has not yet announced any further details about their release date:
So there are still to come:
The Colorist Guide to DaVinci Resolve 17
The Editor's Guide to DaVinci Resolve 17
The Fairlight Audio Guide to DaVinci Resolve 17
The Visual Effects Guide to DaVinci Resolve 17
It is to be expected that there will also be corresponding certificates for these when they are released.
