The Kickstarter campaign for the lithium-ion PowerBank HyperJuice, which has been hailed by the makers as the most powerful USB-C powerpack to date, is now running for only four days. With its capacity of 27,000 mAh/100 Wh it is able to charge a laptop like the MacBook Pro via Power Delivery 3.0 standard. It doubles the battery life of a 15" MacBook Pro.
In addition the 550g heavy HyperJuice in the aluminum housing has two USB-C connectors with 100W and 60W as well as an 18W USB-A 3.0 QuickCharge output. The campaign target of 86,443 Euros has long been reached and has even been exceeded almost 10 times. Via the combined USB-C 100W input and output it can be recharged in about one hour. While the HyperJuice Powerpack is charging, it can also charge other devices via the two remaining outputs. With a capacity of 100 Wh, it remains below the maximum charge capacity limit for batteries used in aircraft carry-on baggage.
The team behind HyperJuice from the American company Sanho Corporation has already successfully completed 6 kick-start campaigns (and a total of 10 on various crowdfunding portals). A HyperJuice battery costs about 137 Euro (for shipping to Germany, however, customs duties and import sales tax will be added) - will be delivered worldwide from December 2018 - the official retail price will later be about 310 Euro. However, a USB-C charger is not included in the price.
