On the occasion of IBC 2026, Adobe has unveiled far-reaching innovations for its video production tools, designed to fundamentally transform the post-production workflow.
The Generative Media Tool: Seamless Timeline Integration of Video and Audio The centerpiece of the new features in Premiere is the new Generative Media Tool. It enables editors to generate video and audio content directly within their timeline without having to leave the application. When generating video, editors can use reference frames from the Program Monitor so that the generated footage better matches the visual context of the surrounding edit. What is particularly revolutionary is that editors can not only access Adobe's proprietary Firefly Video model, but also choose directly within Premiere Pro from partner models offered by leading providers. These include top-tier AI models such as Google Veo (version 3.1), Kling (version 3.0), Runway (Gen-4.5), and Luma, allowing for unprecedented flexibility right inside the editing window.
The generation of audio material is also being expanded. Premiere now generates sound effects directly in the timeline and can even use one's own voice as a reference to control the rhythm, timing, and intensity of the sound. Also in the beta phase are the "Generate Soundscape" and "Generate Music" features. "Generate Soundscape" analyzes up to 15 seconds of video to automatically sketch out a multi-layered audio draft with matching atmosphere and sound effects. "Generate Music" allows for the creation of original, commercially safe music with multiple variations as well as controls for tempo and looping.
"Smarter Audio": AI-Powered Cleanup in Beta In addition, Adobe is bringing a range of new AI audio tools to the Premiere Pro Beta, designed to drastically simplify and improve the audio workflow. "Enhance Audio" builds on the familiar Enhance Speech feature and offers the next generation of noise reduction, enabling independent control of dialogue, music, atmosphere, and sound effects within a single clip. The "Separate Crosstalk" feature automatically splits bleeding speakers onto separate, independent tracks, rendering manual touch-ups or re-recording unnecessary. Dynamic Auto Ducking is designed to automatically balance dialogue, music, and other elements without the need to set manual keyframes. Furthermore, the audio speed algorithm has been improved. It is designed to allow more natural changes over a longer period of time without altering pitch or timbre.
Accelerated Color Grading and New Frame.io Workflow The color panel and general masking features are also receiving updates in the Premiere Pro Beta. A new Auto-Color-Balancing tool allows for the rapid adjustment of exposure and color temperature at the clip, group, or sequence level. New style modules such as vignettes and midtones offer improved control over darkness, blur, and chromatic aberration. Masks can now be dragged and dropped from one adjustment layer to another.
Accelerating cloud collaboration, the introduction of Frame.io Mounted Storage allows all accounts to stream full-resolution media directly from the cloud into the Premiere Pro Timeline without manual downloads.
After Effects: AI Assistant Automates Expressions and More For After Effects users, Adobe is also introducing a new AI assistant designed to automate tedious tasks, which is now in public beta. This assistant understands the entire project, not just the active composition, and can reorganize projects, repair broken expressions, and create new expression rigs using natural language. This enables motion designers to build complex rigs without having to write code themselves.
The process of hours of manual indexing and technical troubleshooting is thus transformed into minutes, while full creative control remains with the user.
Some of these new features are available immediately in the current (beta) versions and, as always, can be installed and tested promptly by Adobe Cloud subscribers. The new functions will also be presented at the Adobe booth at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam.
