Insta360 has released the Flow 2, a new, compact, and lightweight 3-axis smartphone gimbal that combines the functionality of a phone stabilizer, selfie stick, power bank, and mini tripod with smart AI tracking in one device. The Flow 2 is the slightly stripped-down and therefore cheaper version of the model presented half a year ago (www.slashcam.de/news/single/Insta360-Flow-2-Pro---3-Achsen-Smartphone-Gimbal-m-19053.html) (Flow 2 Pro).

The central function of the Flow 2 (as with the previous model) is the AI-supported Deep Track 4.0 technology, which turns the Flow 2 into an intelligent selfie camera. It can recognize and automatically track not only individual people but also entire groups, which should also work if people are briefly obscured. With Multi-Person Tracking, all members of a group remain in the frame without the camera having to be manually realigned or the image section changed. With Active Zoom Tracking, the subject should remain dynamically in the center of the image and in the same size - if it moves away, it is automatically zoomed. The Flow 2 can also be controlled remotely via Apple Watch or a second smartphone.

For optimal image composition, the Pro Framing Grid with nine predefined divisions according to the golden ratio should ensure this. The 350 g Flow 2 works up to 10 hours with one battery charge and enables automatic Bluetooth pairing via NFC for some smartphones, so that when the smartphone is attached to the Flow 2, it automatically jumps into recording mode.

If the Flow 2 is used as a selfie stick, it can be extended up to 207 mm. Compared to the Flow 2 Pro, some functions have been removed to keep the price low, namely the selfie mirror, no native tracking via Apple's DockKit technology, no 360° Infinite Pan Tracking and no Free Tilt Mode.
