With the new, free update to KineOS6.0 for Terra 4K there is an improved user interface. This offers a new layout that combines the most important parameters (e.g. clip name, timecode, codec format) under one main interface, which provides a significantly improved readability. Using the key parameter tuning, parameters such as ISO, iris or color temperature can still be changed via speed dial keys. A full waveform view has also been added.
Still as beta but already usable is the support for compressed RAW(CinemaDNG). The compressed RAW(CinemaDNG) will only be implemented in the TERRA 4K (and not in the TERRA 6K). The compression ratio is configurable (3:1, 5:1 and 7:1) and is natively supported in DaVinci Resolve like the RAW compression of Blackmagic cameras.
Kinefinity points out that the RAW files are always written with "burned-in" KineLOG and the internal playback of compressed CDNG is still very "slow".
Formerly known as Golden Sample mode, the Terra 4K now also handles internal downsampling from 4K/3K to 2K before recording, which should result in a low noise level or more dynamics.
The TERRA 4K now also supports 4:3 anamorphic images: with 3700×2700 pixels. Based on ARRI, Kinefinity now also speaks of an open gate mode that simply corresponds to the full sensor resolution of 4096×2700 scythes. A maximum of 50 fps is possible here.
