Kipon should be known to most as a manufacturer of lens adapters. But together with the German high-end optics developer IBE Optics (who also developed lenses for ARRI Prime 65 S and Prime DNA lenses), Kipon is now also launching focus reducers and lens sets for the new full format mirrorless cameras Canon EOS R and Nikon Z. The new lens adapters will be available on the market in the near future.
The focus reducers are accordingly "speed boosters" for medium format lenses which are adapted to the full format image circle. A total of 8 "Baveyes" called focal reducers - 4 each for Canon EOS R and 4 for Nikon Z Mount - are available for various medium format systems:
- Baveyes Pentax645-Nikon Z 0.7x
- Baveyes Pentax67-Nikon Z 0.7x
- Baveyes MAMIYA645-Nikon Z 0.7x
- Baveyes Hasselblad V-Nikon Z 0.7x
- Baveyes Hasselblad V-EOS R 0.7x
- Baveyes MAMIYA645-EOS R 0.7x
- Baveyes Pentax67-EOS R 0.7x
- Baveyes Pentax645-EOS R 0.7x
In addition, Kipon has now also released its HandeVision IBERIT lens series for Canon EOS R and Nikon Z, which was previously available mainly for Leica M, Sony E-Mount and others. Specifically, 5 manual fixed focal lengths called "Elegant" are available (dollar prices in brackets):
- 24mm/f2.4 (For Nikon Z & Canon RF) 499USD
- 35mm/f2.4 (For Nikon Z & Canon RF) 468USD
