Datacolor has released a new version of its SpyderPro color calibration solution for monitors (Windows/macOS). The calibration software has been completely overhauled and now enables full calibration in under 90 seconds. With features such as 3D LUT export, HDR calibration, ambient light measurement, and C2PA support, which go far beyond classic calibration functions, SpyderPro is primarily aimed at professional users in the fields of video, film, broadcast, 3D animation, digital photography, and content creation who require consistent color fidelity across different production environments.

Unlike previous versions, SpyderPro now allows for the calibration of an unlimited number of displays. 3D LUT Calibration and .cube Export A central innovation is 3D LUT calibration with direct .cube export, which makes it possible to generate calibration data for Rec.709, Rec.2020, DCI-P3, and other color spaces and transfer it directly to compatible video monitors. ### Device Preview Plus: Preview and Simulation The Device Preview Plus function allows users to simulate the appearance of different content on various devices and in print. For this purpose, stored color profiles of current smartphone and tablet models can be applied to the images in the Spyder software, thus simulating the final look. Users can compare images and videos side-by-side, analyze pixels, perform batch processing, and transfer them to other devices via advanced export functions. This allows creator information, editing histories, and origin data to be embedded directly into exported files to make the origin and editing history of digital content traceable and thus prevent counterfeiting. Each SpyderPro license allows the signing of up to 1,000 pieces of content per month, which is particularly relevant for photojournalists and agencies who want to protect their work against manipulation or AI-based forgery.
