Nikon App soon to be free: Nikon NX MobileAir becomes completely free: Album and file limits to be removed

Perfect timing. We had just published a workshop on the Nikon NX Air app on slashCam, and now Nikon has announced that the NX Air app will remove all paid restrictions of the NX MobileAir app.

According to Nikon, both the 999-file limit and the single-album limit of the NX MobileAir app are set to be dropped starting July 9, 2026. This means it will now be possible to create unlimited automated backups on your phone, perform unlimited automatic FTP uploads, and manage multiple cameras or different shoots in parallel, all free of charge.

For filmmakers, in addition to the backup function, the Frame.IO integration of the NX MobileAir app—which we also explain in our

workshop should be of particular interest.
