Things are getting exciting again: According to the reliable NVIDIA leaker "Kopite7kimi," the typical Nvidia "SUPER" update is scheduled for this fall. In this update, the graphics cards of the previous year are delivered with slightly improved features to refresh the two-year development cycle of new GPU chips at the halfway point.
The upcoming SUPER updates are significant, as Nvidia is giving the RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080 noticeably more memory. By using 3 instead of 2 GB GDDR7 modules, all three cards will receive 1.5 times more RAM.
The RTX 5070 SUPER (275 watts) will be delivered with 18 instead of 12 GB of RAM (192 bit, 672 GB/s). The RTX 5070 Ti SUPER (350 watts) and the RTX 5080 SUPER (>400 watts) will receive 24 GB of GDDR7 RAM instead of 16 with a 256-bit connection at approximately 900 GB/s. The price level of the SUPER models should, based on experience, remain close to that of their predecessors - provided that the volatile dollar exchange rate does not once again disrupt the non-binding price recommendations.
Thus, the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER is likely to be Nvidia&s first card with more than 16 GB of memory under 1,000 euros. AMD has been offering a GPU with 24 GB of memory under 1,000 euros for some time with the RX 7900 XTX. However, this is still based on the chip architecture of the last generation, but it is already available today. Both cards deliver a data throughput of around 900 GB/s.
This is usually enough to run large AI language models (LLMs) locally. LLMs with 24 GB at 900 GB/s should reach about 35 tokens/s - which is faster than most people can read. However, for local video models at the highest level, such memory equipment is likely to be significantly insufficient. Current SOTA cloud video generators like Google&s Veo 3 require an estimated minimum of two orders of magnitude more GPU RAM for this.
Usually, the SUPER models are presented at the latest at the turn of the year 2026 (mostly at the Consumer Electronic Show CES).
