Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III APS-C camera -- now featuring Cinema4K video

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III APS-C camera -- now featuring Cinema4K video

[11:44 thu,17.October 2019   by ]

The newly introduced OM-D E-M5 Mark III offers a higher video resolution compared to the previous model (from 2015). It films in 4K with max. 30p as well as in Cinema-4K (then with max. 24p and 237 Mbit/s). In FullHDFullHD im Glossar erklärt there are slow motion with 120 frames per second. More professional features such as 10bit or a LOG recording are not to be found on this camera; a flat image profile is available and a microphone connection is also on board.

It includes a 20.4 megapixel live MOS sensor in APS-C size (formerly 16MP), the TruePic VIII image processor, which already works in the flagship model E-M1 Mark II, and a new 5-axis image stabilization system. The handle and thumb rest of the dust- and splash-proof as well as frost-proof camera housing have been slightly enlarged for better ergonomics. The phase detection AF system with 121 cross sensors also seems to originate from the E-M1 Mark II. The viewfinder is based on an OLED panel with 2.36 million pixels.

In photo mode, there are several new functions such as Live CompositeComposite im Glossar erklärt for long exposures, 50 MP High-Res Shots or Focus Bracketing and Focus Stacking. With a weight of 414 g (with battery and SD card), the camera is lighter than the Mark II model.

The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III will be available from mid-November 2019 for 1,199 Euro (Body only), optionally also in kit with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm F2.8 (RRP 1,899 Euro), with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-200mm F3.5-6.3 (RRP 1,799 Euro) or with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm F4-5.6 II (for 1,499 Euro).
