Before the www.slashcam.de/news/single/Samsung-OmniaHD-Handy-bald-mit-720p-Videofunktion-7384 . html (already announced OmniaHD mobile) by Samsung today announced the Japanese mobile operator Au with the Mobile Hi-Vision Cam Wooo, Hitachi's first mobile phone with 720p video function on the market. The Mobile Hi-Vision Cam Wooo has a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, a 5 Megapicel sensor, 3x optical zoom, face detection, image stabilization, a TV tuner, the LISMO video service (ie access to thousands of Hollywood movies), an HDMI -mini output on the video live to a TV can be viewed and a microSDHC slot for memory cards. Interestingly, as a recording format 3GPP2 instead of the usual H.264 used (according to 3GPP2 specifications working with the older H.263 codec) - to an 8GB microSD card so fit 4 hours of HD video. Akihabaranews has not only the detailed news reporting even a small video in which the cam is presented - it seems quite passable to produce images, but provides for fast motion / panning with slurred video artifacts. Trortzdem: The first step is made - phones are probably in the next few years even the skills of low-cost HD-Cams incorporate more infos at bei www.akihabaranews.com
