DJI has now officially introduced the new RS 5 Gimbal in Germany as well. DJI had actually already released the RS 5 ![]() DJI RS5 Gimbal The Price in Germany The most important new information is therefore primarily the price in this country: the standalone version, which includes the gimbal itself, a quick-release tripod, a lens support, a screw set, an upper quick-release plate, a lower quick-release plate, a BG33 battery grip, and a multi-camera control cable, costs 569 Euros. The DJI RS 5 Combo additionally includes the RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module, an electronic briefcase handle, an L-shaped cable, and a carrying case, and costs 719 Euros. The basic specifications remain the same as the predecessor: The RS 5 is still designed for a payload of up to 3 kg, clearly targeting mirrorless camera systems with common lens combinations. The weight is 1.46 kg including the battery grip and quick-release plates, making it slightly higher than before. ![]() DJI RS5 Gimbal What&s New? Significantly Improved Intelligent TrackingThe most important innovation concerns the RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module, which is now included as standard in the Combo version. It was first introduced with the RS 4 Mini and has been functionally expanded for the RS 5. New features include, among others: - Magnetic attachment of the module without adapters or additional accessories - Tracking not only of people but also of vehicles, pets, and objects - Tracking distance from 0.5 to 10 meters (with >20 Lux ambient light) - Automatic composition, where the subject is placed aesthetically meaningfully in the frame - Recognition of subjects that briefly leave the frame Subject selection is done directly via the gimbal&s touchscreen, controlled by integrated AI algorithms that analyze the scene in real time. This makes it much easier to realize more complex camera movements such as backward tracking, circling shots, or solo shots with a stationary camera. RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module RS 5 Gesture ControlAs with newer DJI drones, the RS 5 now also supports gesture control. Tracking can be started and stopped, recordings triggered, and the field of view adjusted via hand gestures. This offers a practical added value, especially for solo filmmakers using the gimbal as a "robot cameraman." Faster Charging and Longer RuntimeWith the new BG33 battery grip (when using a 65W PD power supply), the RS 5 is fully charged in about one hour a significant improvement over the RS 4. The standby time is up to 14 hours, but only when positioned horizontally and stationary with a balanced gimbal. When the gimbal moves, the operating time is shortened. For longer use, the BG70 high-capacity grip is optionally available, which, according to DJI, increases the runtime to up to 30 hours. ![]() DJI RS5 Gimbal Improved StabilizationDJI uses its 5th generation stabilization algorithm in the RS 5. The peak motor torques have been increased by 50%, which is intended to provide visibly more stable results, especially during: fast movements, running and walking shots, abrupt changes in direction, and vertical shots. Electronic Briefcase/Sling GripAlso new is an electronic briefcase handle that allows direct access to gimbal and camera functions via a joystick and buttons. This allows low-angle perspectives to be comfortably operated with one hand, without frequent grip changes or additional accessories. Setup & BalancingThe RS 5 now features new fine-tuning knobs on each axis and Teflon slide coatings that reduce friction and make balancing easier especially with heavier setups. The 2nd generation automatic axis locks engage when switched off and disengage automatically when switched on. Double-Layer Quick Release PlatesThe double quick-release plate (Arca-Swiss on top, Manfrotto on the bottom) allows for quick switching between gimbal and tripod without rebalancing, thanks to position memory. An adjustable guide on the top plate provides additional security. Vertical Shooting Without AccessoriesThe 3rd generation Native Vertical Mode enables vertical shooting by simply rotating the horizontal plate 90°. According to DJI, no rebalancing for tilt and pan is required afterwards. Z-Axis IndicatorA new Z-axis indicator not only helps with balancing but also provides visual feedback while walking to adjust stride and tempo to minimize vertical shake. Extended Bluetooth Camera ControlIn addition to Sony, Canon, and Nikon, the RS 5&s Bluetooth trigger now also supports selected camera models from Panasonic and Fujifilm. Functions such as shutter release, zoom, and Clear Image Zoom can be controlled wirelessly directly on the gimbal. DJI Focus Pro & SDR TransmissionIn combination with two DJI Focus Pro motors, zoom and focus can be operated directly via the joystick and adjustment wheel. Optionally, DJI SDR Transmission can also be used for high-resolution live feeds, remote control of the gimbal and camera, and team workflows. ![]() DJI RS5 Gimbal Key Technical Specifications- Payload: up to 3 kg - Weight: 1.46 kg (incl. battery grip & plates) - Stabilization: 5th generation, +50% motor torque - Tracking: People, vehicles, pets, objects; 0.510 m - Battery: LiPo 4S, 2150 mAh, 33.29 Wh - Charging time: approx. 1 h (65 W PD) - Runtime: approx. 14 h, up to 30 h with BG70 - Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, RSA port, RS-SDK deutsche Version dieser Seite: DJI RS 5 Gimbal bringt verbessertes Tracking, Gestensteuerung und mehr |
