Siggraph Demo: Real-time rendering of digital people is becoming more and more realistic

Immune depictions of "virtual" people, that is, computers created by computers, can now have a very life-like effect, but in video sequences it is (luckily?) On the Siggraph, there was an impressive demonstration, MeetMike, at the end of this week, where a CGI image was rendered as an Avatar in real time (!). The guest avatars were based on a photoWhile Mike's face was carefully scanned in advance. During the conversation the faces of both participants were tracked and their movements transferred to the rigs of the avatars in real time. For this, nine PCs with 32GB of RAM and 1080ti Nvidia cards were used, with synchronized Unreal graphics engines. Rendered on site at 90 fps in s3Ds3D im Glossar erklärt / VR, while the video included here is a live rendering with only 30fps. The interviews themselves are not online. During the implementation of MeetMike several universities and companies worked together, among others.
