Viltrox is releasing its first lenses for MiroFourThirds. The set includes three manual fixed focal lengths that are already available in other versions, such as for APS-C and E-mount, but here the trio is also optimized for cine use, such as filming with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera or the Panasonic GH line.
Viltrox 23mm, 33mm, 56mm T1.5 MFT cine lenses
The 23mm, 33mm and 56mm lenses, all with a T1.5 speed, cover an image circle of 21.7mm. Their horizontal angle of view is 41.7°, 29.2° and 17.7°, respectively. They have the same external construction (72mm diameter, 75mm length) and offer a uniform position of the toothed lens rings. Weight ranges from 500 to 540g (aluminum alloy manufacturing).
The focus throw runs 153°, and the aperture is de-clicked; the iris has 14 blades. According to Viltrox, focus breathing is reduced. The optical design includes 10 elements in 11 groups for the 23mm, and 9 elements in 10 groups for the other two, including both ED and HFR elements.
The optics feature multiple nano-coating, and the front lens is said to be spall-resistant. Individually they cost , the set is available for (plus duties).
