Question of DezorianGuy:
Januar 2008

Hi!
I got on the Council instead of directly in 24p mode to film (Canon HV20), but rather only at 30fps to film, because then lubricating effects / nachzieheffekte accounts and I have a cleaner and flicker-free picture get. Then the 30fps material to 24fps but then convert to make it fair to make film.

My question:
Does it make sense for the films I turn?
Got the cam, mainly because the 24p mode fetched. But this alternative 24p better solution than the "native" of the cam?
Is there quality loss?

And a question that I always imagine, but never really been answered:
In what format recommended it to me my 1440x1080 (or so) video files to save? x264? xvid?
My focus is total quality. At the moment my files over 20GB in size, wants to get edit and convert decently, but I do this work every time, because None me a clear answer. Can you give me at least 2-3 ways to describe the quality of their treads? Bitrate important? codec? etc?
Files should be relatively smaller than the original size, where smaller, until too much quality defects appear.

It is perhaps much to ask, but if you give me the right answer spontaneously and could, do you have me a huge load of the shoulders. :)

PS: Hab noch ne quick question about my polarizer, which I recently, respectively: Inside aufgeschaubt he makes dark images, he draussen aufgeschraubt magnificent colors appear, or make the sky blue. but he makes the same time synonymous Picture (unnoticed) dark (such as inside the home?)? Or should we only s.Sonnentagen the polarizer, so the filter is really nothing more can appear dark, because of the sunlight?

What thou turn? How do you find yourself the difference? Who should decide this for you?

If the shutter speed at 24p is not really in the direction of 1 / 48 can move, but remains at 1/24tel (is this really so?), Then this would in fact smeared movements explained. The detour over 30i method would in any case better.

These are not difficult to format. Above all, the first good fit for Web downloads.

Cost 20 GB hard drive today, on average no more than on tape. 20 GB HDV equivalent to 1 hour, 54 minutes and 32 seconds. The best quality is always 1:1. Have you filmed in HDV, leave it in HDV then just for the Web x.264 or WMV, for optimal bitrate as you can in each player, the codecs and bitrates of clips to show, in which size and quality you promise (Most players have a window film information or properties).

The most effective method of reduction is the reduction by cutting. In the near future is the spice.

Take a look but the operating principle of such a filter in times of peace - at least three links to very detailed explanations I had you already in another thread a few days. But again, very briefly, and simplistically: the effect of the polarization filter based on the fact that he swallows the light, so the picture is darker, logically, if you do not open the Aperture.
Possible sunshine or light is a prerequisite for the Polfiltereinsatz to intensify the colors, because it depending on the angle to the light very strongly (about 90 degrees of the Page) or not (eg backlight) works - clearly visible way, often s.unterschiedlich dark sky when shooting with strong wide angles. If the light is not addressed, but as diffuse s.bewölkten days, the polarizer is ineffective. Try this in practice a try: How to deal with a polarization filter is much simpler than it perhaps sounds and is really fun.

Kleiner Nachtrag:
For the web you need to square with, all pixels expected. In square pixel represents your HDV 1920 x 1080 = 16:9.
You have to be so when you export a format to choose, what has this aspect ratio. The half-size would be 960 x 540, just as an example.
