| Question to ensure respect for Buying used parts

Hello!
I am so far, I (; for outrageously expensive money) buy a used or Video8 Digital8 camera, to secure my old analog tapes to hard disks. Unfortunately, all (;) defective for friends and relatives existing Video8 and Hi8 cameras. Are somehow more susceptible than the (, S)-VHS ("C) devices from the same time, as almost all go.
Since the (; perceived) to be astronomical prices on ebay for such astronomical prices seem no camcorder (; up 50% from the MSRP for a 7-year-old Digital8 camcorder paid there), I probably dig deeper into their pockets than expected.
And now the real question:
Since there are several vendors synonymous deals that offer 1 year warranty (;) must be: What good is that? Is the synonymous for parts such as heads video / mechanic and if so, how long? Assuming that the heads are after 4 months back, my bad luck or the seller?
