I was always on top and bottom s.Pc Picture a black bar
Format 16:9
Did it in the menue in 4:3 format converted,
Menu displays in 4:3
The display remains 16:9
..... still synonymous generates 16:9
am I doing something wrong?

At most, you can double Sony's format.
You can set the one in which format is being recorded. That makes the difference between 4:3 and 16:9 - but of course only for future recordings. If you want to switch, should be to the future recordings and 4:3 But to no preference where and how they play
Elsewhere in the menu you can specify whether you have a true analog output 16:9 or 4:3 with letterbox bars will spend. This does not s.eigentlich recorded format, but only in how it s.den Television will be relayed. It is purely a playback feature and has the digital output anyway no influence. Perhaps you've caught the second setting.
