Did my questions gegoogelt. Result ... I circling the helmet.

Output Requirements: possess 8xSupermulti Notebook Drive with Double Layer (8.5GB) DVD writer and 5 piece Sonylesbare DVD + R.

The goal is, this movie (AVI file) to burn DVDs to send to Germany.

Questions, Part I: What are the hardware requirements are necessary so that this can be seen Fim? (PC or / and DVD player.) Do I have the AVI file into another format, convert MPEG4 to make sure that my DVDs can be read?

Questions Part II: Has anyone a proposal which the free software to convert AVI file to MPEG4 and DVD burning? (If the size under 30MB, since my Internet connection of each snail is obsolete)

Part 1:

You can install the. Avi file with the "divx converter" to make small and they simply "Datendvd" on the blank disc burn. More modern DVD player to play without starting another. Even on a PC you can easily play, if you do not grade a PC from the 90s did. In an extra need to format. Umbedingt not convert avi, unless you want it umbedingt in mpg or mp4 format.

Part 2:

I personally know only the "divx converter" as a free program.

Google certainly helps in the search!

Hello,

again a response of me :-)

Here you have to tell us more precisely what is meant by this that the files "read" should be: How and what? On a PC for further editing? Or s.DVD player for direct viewing?

In the former case (and if it is DV-AVI from the camera acts) share the file in portions to 20 minutes, then they each fit on one DVD.

In the second case to produce a s.besten with appropriate software can send a video DVD, then you probably need only a single synonymous.

Thanks Corpse and my special thanks to Markus.

Unfortunately, I can, because often tagelangem blackout is not always the akuellen Zeipunkt into the network and respond immediately.

My first burned DVD is now before me. (However, with a watermark in it "ImTOO AVI to DV" software for free but useless DVD)

Was a long way of a non-functioning FireWire cable up to playable DVD. A small but good burning software should I googled again.

I would like to thank all the while I have successfully supported, rather warmly.

Hello Corpse,

Your solution seems ideal.

I versuchs times for me to defragment virtual.

1. Have AVI file of about 10 GB produces
2. Then convert to Divx
3. The so (Kl) preserved divx file to burn to CD
4. This CD (contains coarse zugeschnttener film) send me to the outlook in Germany
5. There is this CD but not on a DVD player playable? (I gegoogelt)
6. However playable on a PC ... I go there right in this assumption?
7. But now this is on CD in Divx shrunken film first only a coarse version

Question: Can I use the Divx files to an AVI file to transform the film later, with a good processing software, the final touches to give? So I could synonymous a lot of footage without save big memory requirements on the hard drive.

Am open and grateful for every comment.

DivX compressed with a quality loss of more or less visible. The bigger the file, the less the losses in the picture you see. Highly compressed JPEG files are synonymous such "losses" to see and not good.

I recommend you NOT the movie to DivX to compress and then use this file to the final touches to miss. As tempting as the reduced size may be synonymous, when you lose compression is of quality and therefore not recommended.

The losses you've already referred to, when you convert Divx, a small file can not store as much information as a major.

And a Zurückkonvertieren after DV-AVI is possible, but nonsensical. The file is big, but the information does not get back where synonymous? What once gone, is and will remain away.

Sounds and is logical, Mark, what you write. I had my example as in the dried fruit .. you are presented water and already is the old size and quality is restored. Okay, confess ... is nonsense.

My problem remains in the saved, as I with my cam can not zureuck import and the hard drive has its limits. The alternative, an additional hard drive arrange for me here is not feasible. The only solution I see is portions on DVD discs to store.

Exactly. I would with WinRar (free) the 10 GByte file into 3 parts and grab the 3 parts to 3 normal DVD's burn. The receiver is copied these 3 parts on the hard drive and unpack it again, the original file.
