Canon HG10 or HV20?

Question by rd4:
Januar 2008

Hello

I would like to see an HD camcorder to buy and my choice is now on the HV20 and HG10 of Canon narrowed. The HV20 is generally very good, on the HG10, there is unfortunately little test reports. If the HG10 on image quality and similar equipment in the area?

Another question is how much space is needed 1h hours of film, when they of an HDV tape or of a hard drive comes from. If I have understood correctly, the hard data via USB and transfer HDV via Firewire. My laptop has both connections, but because it is not the most expensive, I wonder what kind of problems may arise. The data:

HP Compaq 6710b
Intel Centrino Duo Mobile Technology, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2.0GHz), 2MB L2Cache, 800 MHz FSB
2x 1024MB DDR2-667, a maximum of 2x 2048MB
160GB S-ATA, 5400rpm

Since I only have 160 GB space, I probably would have if I have the HV20 takes me an external hard drive provide. Can the current editing programs (I use Magix Video Deluxe 2006 Pros) with footage directly of the external hard drive or the material on the C: drive to be copied?

Thanks for the help
Rafael

Answer by castingeurope:

For the post is currently better suited HDV, HDV requires modern processors already strong (MPEG2), but that the HG10 AVCHD is still a lot more demanding, for good work should have been a high-end system. I would post in the HV20 guess.

It is possible natürlch right of External plate cutting, it is even advisable, because they improve the efficiency of the system is improved, especially at a 5400RPM main plate. Any good editing program should be synonymous with the opportunity, the place for cache files to determine (on external disk). Magix I know not, so I can not say exactly s.besten look through the settings.

For tape are 13GB per hour.
