Canon HV20 purchase advice

Question by William133:
Dezember 2008

Hello together,

I would like to purchase your opinion about a HV20 hear. The price this Camera performance is brilliant technically difficult, I know since I have now for less than ¬ 500 have found. SEALED and NEW!
I have so far with a JVC GR-D725E Camcorder gefimmlt for private purposes. As I film weddings and some other projects with a SonyHVR Z-1 E had made, but was borrowed, I know perfectly with the matter from now and I would like to own a new camcorder growth.
Firstly I would like the Canon HV20 to film growth to rotate, but on the other hand, synonymous to birthdays and weddings in order to film, which I did but the possibility of films with manual settings to make is more important.

Since I am still a student my Budge is not the greatest, so I am very glad the HV20 so cheap to have found (but not yet ordered).

My questions now. I speculate that my Raynox HD-6600 and a zuzulegen MKE 400 Micro of Sennheiser to use. Can you give me any tips or just give me comment about your experience?

Here is a movie I recently Augsburg for the FOS have produced
http://www.vimeo.com/2496176 (small errors in formats, not in the finished movie to see;)

Freu mich schon answers on the board here is really great!

Hello,

" where there because the HV20 for under $ 500 Latvians NEW ?????

" have read here in the forum that the (approximately 200 euro) Canon WW-Converter delivers the best quality ...

" I find the film quite as far as zestful made one detail bothers me: the order of the scenes comes early for me being illogical: Alarms - Car lights in the dark - keys / house - into the car in daylight and from ...
This is because suddenly bright too fast ..
The car lights, I would either delete or s.den early, before the alarm clock set.

Schönen Gruß

Canon HV20:
Take It! I also films with an HV20 as a second camera. For the vast majority of takes, you'll no difference to more expensive HDV cameras can imagine. My other camera is a Canon XH A1, whose images are also class, but I can not sharper than the HV20 can be found.

When movements of the HV20 (or more accurately lateral pans or fast horizontal movements of the objects) are slight distortions of the objects. This is not a shortage but the quality varies with the use of CMOS sensors. Reason: With these sensors is apparently only the exposure of each image (25 or 50 per second) via a sensor in the top to the bottom of the current "slot". This is required for this course so his time in which the objects move naturally. - This effect, however, I've never been in the normal film Watch (TV, PC monitor) found, but in the editing system at the Picture-Picture for analysis. - And this "error" is also the case for all cameras bauähnlichen and it is perhaps synonymous with fussy, even about such technical nuances of writing.

You can manually set very much in the HV20. Partial somewhat cumbersome. However, in the class find themselves today hardly comparable. For the price may now probably no one expected. What set and how to do this you will find sufficiently secure on the Internet, which is an advantage in the next purchase is already good camera.

Sennheiser MKE 400:
I also use this together with my HV20. Good directivity, clearer sound. Have not regretted the purchase. - This is useful in any case, the accessories set MZW 400 (Fellwindschutz). At the MKE 400 is a foam windscreen while here. If you, however, outdoor shots, then, this synonymous with relatively light winds no more. Outside, I have therefore always Fellwindschutz it.

Raynox HD-6600:
I do not know, but gets quite good reviews on the Internet, and priced, it is very interesting. - Without Wideangle intent are you with the HV20 in fact, sometimes quite beautifully with the back wall s.der. Therefore, a wide-angle attachment for the HV20 (HV30 also) a very useful accessories. You'll need it often.

Hello,
I want your euphoria so reluctant to slow down, but that it is in your HV20 for under $ 500 is a PAL model is, I venture to doubt difficult. If the HV20 of the Atlantiv page, I would suggest you offer this with caution, as it is with 99-percent probability of an NTSC model act! The issue was only recently here in another Canon model described. There was someone of Atlantiv even after extra request, whether it is a Pal camcorder that it promised and then delivered it NTSC. And when you mean yes, inter alia, wedding movies like, you need a PAL model, because you will hardly filming in the U.S., right?
The HV20 the cheapest I've seen in reputable sellers have cost about 700 euros, usually even more expensive than the HV30.

For the HV20 itself can I give you a wedding camcorder only guess at least if you alone films. As a second camera that they would fully okay. The camcorder has good manual controls, but only when it's not fast must go. And at live events, and a wedding is one such, it must proceed quickly. Like the sound of the Sennheiser MKE 400 is, I do not know, but the internal Micro HV20/30 is ne of disaster anyway because it is the very loud noise ruthless drive with recording. In the HV30, you can while the internal Dämfung set (if the HV20 goes when I do not know), the drive noise effectively removed, but the sound so synonymous so dull, that he raised for purposes of becoming unusable. For example, with a Beyerdynamic MCE 72 directly on the cam and nice heruntergepegelt far you have the "buzz" of the drive is still good with it, unless you have the internal damping of the HV30 activate, making the sound dull, but recovered to make. Whether the Sennheiser MKE 400 is sufficiently addressed in order to stop, but I can not say. If you have a really good (professional) want to have sound, the Microfilm of the HV20 away, which means that you are in a sound its wedding-anglers need. The Raynox 6600 is a good price for the WW, but with the adapter 52 to 43 mm, so you need not fully durchzoombar, which means that the picture at full zoom is blurred. Until 80 or 90 percent of zoom but it is flawless.
Then you need a (small) head light for the wedding, what with an additional Micro no longer quite so easy to fit the camera. Since then it's already difficult with additional rail on a small camcorder. Without a tripod, you can do that will actually forget what you have but for clean images to use test anyway. As I said, the HV20 in the price segment, a class-camera, but for (semi) professional live inserts only partially usable, s.besten as a second camcorder, but two camera at a wedding should be used anyway.
