Hello everybody,
have been a few days a new Canon XH A1. If my 2 external microphones s.die XLR inputs, they provide only a rather disappointing "mono sound."
One would have but the mics as a stereo pair can use!?
Find this s.der Camera but no Controls.
Has someone an idea?
If I were with the same microphone on an audio interface to record my laptop, I get a much better sound than the Canon.
Why?

Hello Henrik,
two possible causes:
1. (Do not laugh!) Are the XLR inputs in the Audio menu enabled? Otherwise, continue to take the built-in Micro.
2. In addition to the XLR jacks s.der Camera is a switch, which (if I remember correctly) with CH 1 1 / 2 is described. Here you can set whether CH 1 on BOTH tracks is written. In your case, this function is of course not be activated.

With point 2's you have taken. Did Although the input selector switch noticed, but incorrectly interpreted. Covered if CH 1 and CH 2 are occupied, it must be based on Ch1 / CH2 are - wrong!
This one has it, when one reads manuals too fast ...
