Infoseite // Canon XL1 with image artifacts with fast movements - what can be

Frage von Matthias Hanky:

Hello together.

I was just desperation. Been my good old XL1 (always in hardcore use) has had some time real problems.

Dropouts without end ... That's what I can, but then largely resolve by cleaning the heads again. But I must now use always TDK tapes.

Nu experience the following problem, which I can not blame on the recording heads (I think):

When fast movements of objects in front of the camera (and only then!) Verpixeln the objects. For example, if the Micro out of the picture disappears, it attracts such fine Klötzschenstreifen or arms in motion are gekästelt. This is yet more s.den chips .... I think

Has anyone had such a problem before? what can be wrong? Please help me .....

Greetings Matthias

Antwort von Stefan:

Not necessarily.

In a static picture, the error could be as synonymous, but you do not see them because the DV decoder uses material from the previous frames s.den points of failure.

As long as the frames do not differ, show no errors. But woe if they move and what the "we take instead of the previous Full Resolution Sample error simply does not work.

Let the drive and the head drum check / repair.

Good luck

Antwort von Matthias Hanky:

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your thought-provoking. That sounds very logical.
So, head still not right ok.

Well, I do not think repair is so profitable. The cam has aggregated record 300 -500 head determines hours (and play)

What would you recommend. New Used XL1 or repair.

Ne HDV is unfortunately not in my budget straight in there ;-))

Antwort von Stefan:

My thoughts seek: Estimate and probably worth the repair. You know how a foreign Camera used was treated and how long that still hold? Your would have to replace the worn video heads and possibly maintenance of the drive fit again.

Good luck
