I would like to buy myself a new camcorder soon. Now the question is DVD vs. MiniDV.
Because I want to play my videos on DVD and they are not "archive" will (such as on MiniDV) is the question of whether it is worthwhile DVD.

Yes, I want to edit. With my MiniDV cam but I've always converted to mpeg2 because my hard drive would be otherwise too cluttered. That has always worked wonderfully synonymous, synonymous editing. Include in DV, secure cut film in DV on MiniDV cassette. In parallel, create a DVD. Is easy to connect your camcorder s.TV practical than just inconvenient.
