I own a SonyTRV22E.

Clearly to do this, but you lose in the transcoding quality.
Praise be for this example (as Multitranscoder) SUPER (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html). Target format is always DV AVi what you can then transfer to your camera with one PRG your choice.

why analog? Can the SonyTRV22E since no digital data capture via firewire? When I play my Canon MVX100i cut movies for backup purposes more than DV AVI via firewire back.
