Frage von DoBBy:

Howdy Slashcam Forum,

How can we make a few questions, since I sent me a video editing machine (-space) and would like to establish are:
My current calculator is unfortunately the time is still inexplicably broken, but this week it will be repaired. I'll give you times of the data by my calculator, together with the question of whether this Calculator DV editing is fit (software is not yet there, but it is highly likely if you do not have good reasons to the contrary, Adobe Production Suite CS3 will.) The war, I even for 315 ¬ as a pupil at www.unimall.de license. While not exactly cheap, but if you make a mistake about what part of the building costs, but is really a bargain ... This is unfortunately not commercially available, but I am not yet so advanced that my videos now I would sell the public. In the private environment is something else, because I sell my videos already ... But I digress ^ ^
Here are the details of my calculator:

http://www.computer-nachrichten.de/hardware/artikel/2006/aldi_pc0306_md8800.html

The graphics card and RAM have been replaced by:
Nvidia Geforce 7950 GT and 2x 1GB Kingston 667 MHz RAM
Furthermore, an additional 250GB SATA hard drive with 16MB cache built.

More s.dem Calculator hardware was not (yet) been replaced or altered. Sofwaremäßig I completely formatted and installed the only thing I would like to have it.
I also have a 19-inch DVI monitor and a 17-inch VGA monitor (tube). I want the latter synonymous connect to the system, so I have 2 monitors to cut.
To set up the computer:
Mir is a total of 4 hard disks 250 GB available. 2 internal SATA hard disks and USB 2 external hard disks. My suggestion would be to have each of the 2 internal disks to install XP and the XP boot manager to hide from, so I have a clear cut system and a normal system for surfing, Gamen, etc. .. So there are still 2 external USB disks ... How can that now makes sense to integrate editing system? The internal cutting plate is of course synonymous nor partition, so I need for the C system is not more than 20 GB, I would say a flat rate times. So I have 230 GB internal to forgive and even 2 external USB disks with 250 GB each. The other internal disk that I use is from home editing system from inaccessible and "exist" for the PC does not. In Disk Management, then "unknown partition". The same course with the plate when I cut myself on the private system. Meaning and purpose of all this is holding, that no viruses on the other plate come and cut my system is not slowed by the Internet or other software. I still have many questions, but one after the other. First I would like to know if the above calculator with the components exchanged videoschnitttauglich is and how I can use hard disks s.effizientesten for DV editing. (I have since heard anything, and vonwegen outsource raw materials there and everything else out there, etc. ..)

Would really appreciate help on,
Dobby mfg

Often enough, a look at the system requirements for Adobe to find out what you need AT LEAST. Usually there should be more:

Windows

* Intel ® Pentium ® 4 (with 2 GHz processor for DV, 3.4 GHz for HDV), Intel Centrino ®, Intel Xeon ® (dual processor with 2.8 GHz for HD) or Intel Core !" Duo (or compatible) processor with SSE2 support for AMD systems
* Microsoft ® Windows ® XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista !" Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise (only for 32-bit versions certified)
* 1 GB of RAM for DV, 2 GB of RAM for HDV and HD
* 10 GB free hard disk space (additional space required for installation)
* Dedicated 7200-RPM hard drive for DV - and HDV editing; hard array with striping (RAID 0) for HD (SCSI hard disks subsystem recommended)
* 1280 x 1024 dot resolution monitor with 32-bit color depth; of Adobe recommended graphics card for faster rendering (details, see the complete list of compatible hardware *)
* Microsoft DirectX or ASIO compatible sound card
* From Adobe certified card for digital recording and output of SD / HD video material on tape
* DVD-ROM drive
* Blu-ray burner for Blu-ray Disc creation
* DVD + /-R burner for DVD creation
* OHCI-compatible IEEE 1394 port for DV and HDV recording, export to tape and transfer to DV device
* QuickTime 7 QuickTime-functions
* Internet or phone line for product activation
* Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos * and other services necessary

So you do not then need to google for the complete list of compatible hardware to be able to see, here the link:

Lol:-D Thank you. To not be here now lazier than "non-Viewfinder" rüberzukommen: I was of course at this Adobe page, but those are the MINDESTandorderungen. It is usually the case that in practice it is different then ... Vllt there is someone here who has the same calculator and DV editing is synonymous with him, the times could post experiences etc?

What exactly means by Adobe with the "Dedicated 7200-RPM hard drive for DV - and HDV editing; hard array with striping (RAID 0) for HD (SCSI hard disks subsystem recommended)"
Is this just something that I planned it, that is 2 internal disks, each separately? Unfortunately, I know with hard disks do not. They were holding the calculator and prays every day that they fulfilled their purpose ^ ^

And my motherboard has 2 FireWire Connections, then I need another of Adobe recommended "digitizing card for recording and output of SD / HD video material on tape", if so, what exactly causes this?

No, what you want to do is two XP on two drives to run, so that the installation does not come into the enclosure. What Adobe says is a separate plate (at least 7200RPM shortcut) for your data, not the system disk is better a RAID 0, which are two plates, which divide the work and so are faster than a single plate. RAID 0 has the advantage, since hard drives are faster, because the data is split to be distributed. That gives you only if you have a RAIDKarte you or your board untstuetzt sowas.
What CPU do you have on the thing?

Yes that is with the Raid is the only thing you need not note on the list;)

For DV and HDV ranging from completely normal hard disks, since only 25MBit per track can be used.

That would have actually in the link with it are:

Intel Pentium D 830 Processor (Dual-Core, 3.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 64 bit)

And greeting back to San Jose ^ ^

So I think the requirements of Adobe unpacks it loose, if not even HD. But since I do not have HD Camera, plays no role synonymous. IF I'm an HD camera should have, then most probably synonymous another calculator there. In my experience, that ALDI PC is not very good on a specific area by, because they are all-rounders. Once you have something specific, makes the part not so good with ...

How should I now cut my hard justice system set up? As I said, I have 2 external USB disks for my internal and 250 GB disk is the disk. How should I set up what looks like, so that the editing software s.besten (fastest) works? So I think now because of certain data only on external demand, the raw material to the internal, etc. Hopefully you know what I mean. Da gabs doch mal tips such miracles?

I would be one of the disks for the operating system and software, as I would about 50GB plan. The rest of it as a drive for files that you need from time to time, your self-made music, pictures, ... Never cut of the plate.
The next plate ONLY as a working drive for DV editing. The yes can you possibly by a current 500GB SATA - replaced drive pays off in the real prices of hard disk ... Possibly the 2x250GB in 500GB partition and a partition, only one project file. After completion - Project (for example, USB, stop what you need from the Project) and then format the partition. Then save the defragment ;)...
The two USB disks, I would only use as an archive, not for the cut. USB requires the processor, which is never good ...

So since I do a dual boot config. install on my PC, is indeed an internal HDD schonmal away. Remains a 250GB Sata disk internal and 2 external USB 250GB HDDs. My PC has in fact only room for 2 internal HDDs, which are already there for me, so I've no more space for ne third. Also Budgetmäßig I have not planned another HDD in the near future to buy. I also have from what I've got the best of it.

You are my test, I should be the raw material, which I directly of the Cam recordings, NIE on external USB HDDs store, because the processor is claimed? The example I ever knew not. This means that I create of my internal 250 GB HDD we are a terrific big 200 GB partition and save the raw material out there? For what should I have to use external disks for audio, images, templates, etc?
Would it make sense set? And what is with the project files, which have to go? And WHY must all be stored separately, may not be easy in the installation folder of the program, ie C: \ xxxx?

Yes, not of the USB-cut plate. It can work on, but sometime does not work anymore. If he then accesses multiple paging files ...

Why the projects in the same folder? Well, that's s.and for a workflow issue. This is synonymous depends on where you are in the paging files premiere to write it. "How Projektfile" or in a separate folder.
You have to be so you imagine that after you've imported your videos will premiere its own specific files for each clip is created, especially Audio files (approximate). In addition, all Vorschaudatein there. These folders quickly times have 100GB and it will NOT be deleted if you just delete the project file. Then the same times unwitzig ...

If you have all files in a folder, you can all synonymous to a Project-related files after the completion delete when you no longer need.

You want a dual boot - function aja ...
Then share your system disk ind 50-50-150GB
Use the remaining SATA 250er for videos
And the external USB for all sorts of other files.

Hm yes, that really seems a good idea to be ... And the premiere of project files (which fairly quickly fairly large) should I then take the remaining Sata250er it can write, where the raw material synonymous then the Camera will be on it? I would always hold a folder, where everything in it. Zb FolderName: Holiday Film, then there is the raw material inside the camera and all the project files that Premiere creates this. Is this then everything is OK?
