Infoseite // Experience with analog / digital converters of Canopus

Frage von curbgrinder:

Hi,

first time a major s.Euch all praise!
Here we find indeed to almost all questions matching answers and it is nice to see that this one is helped always very good.

Now to my concerns.
So far I have my VHS movies ever with an old DV camera, which had an AV-IN port, played on the calculator.
Since this has unfortunately given up the ghost and the repair would be too expensive, I've thought an analog / digital converter to grow.

As I read about here in the forum, some articles have the converter ADVC 55, 110 and 300 of Canopus quite well.

The 55 has no AV-out, the other two already.

Now my questions:

1st If the AV-out only important if I bring my calculator to material of an analog device or is synonymous important if I want to bring analogue material on the calculator?

2nd The 55 does not have the audio-locked function. Has anyone here experience with the 55mm in terms of synchronization of video and audio made for this model?

3rd According to the description of the 300 can improve the video significantly. I would serve it if what I see on my television through my VHS tape synonymous with the same quality to get the calculator. then the 110s dignity enough for me?

Many greetings and thanks for your time already answers!
Marcel

To your questions:

1) The device has an AV-in, so it can process and digitize analog sources. The way back - that is an issue on the analog way is not possible. You can upload your old Television not feed it.

3) Yes. The "improvement" rule. a continuation of the automatic processes are not so much seen really improved since the approach was adapted for general videos. That is, they may, for certain videos may even worsen the quality, as when film grain is filtered out because it is interpreted as noise. Is it synonymous still used an inappropriate, not very clever filtering process, the picture can be even much look much worse than the original.

For a restoration of VHS tapes I still recommend the infinite starkness of Avisynth:)

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the tip with Avisynth, I've just looked at the time, looks promising :-).

Do you own an A / D converter of Canopus?

I think the 110s should be sufficient for my needs.

How is it with the capturing? I use mostly premiere. Simply by Firewire s.den Calculator and everything as usual? :-)

Hi
I'm still the old Canopus AV-DV converter 100.Dieser has a external power 12 volt transformer, which has 110 installed this, but seems to 110 with the identical in internal structure must be equal.
I'm very satisfied with this converter, both lying to inputs-outputs, has just such as DV IN OUT.
The results of the transformation is generally praised

Hey,

depending on the Firewire card you must complete the ADVC-110 to connect a camera via Firewire can. Once you connect a camera, the signal is looped fact not really ", because then Camera and ADVC-110 detected simultaneously. The problem I had with a new Firewire card not later.

In order to digitize analog sources suitable top. To print out a preview to a monitor Firewire in my opinion is too slow, because the delay is then almost 1 second.

I have therefore decided s.Heimrechner for the ADVC-110 just to play along of analog sources, but a second graphics card installed and s.Laufen on a normal computer monitor full-screen preview. So I've even HD support ;-)

Greetings!
Constantin
